This classic march is one of Julius Fučik’s most beloved and well known. He composed over 400 pieces and over 100 marches.  This piece, plus his Entry of the Gladiators, and Children of the Regiment are some of the his most performed, and considered by many scholars as some of the finest marches ever composed.  Fučik wrote this march referencing the Tuscan city of Florence.  In this arrangement, a traditional three trumpet part instrumentation is used, as well as a full compliment of percussion. Great care has been taken by the arranger to preserve the original nuances and stylistic writing of Fučik while presenting it in this contemporary band setting.
